If you compare the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+, you will see only a few differences – however, the results from last week’s poll shows that these two phones couldn’t be more different. Neither of them is shaping up to be a hot seller, but the plus model is certainly the winner here.
Let’s start with the Realme 12 Pro as this will be short. Only 1 in 10 people are interested in this model, with 2 more that can be talked into getting one if the phone gets great results in reviews. For most, there are better mid-rangers that they can buy. Many are holding off until the likes of the Samsung Galaxy A55 and Nothing Phone (2a) arrive.
The Realme 12 Pro+ wasn’t exactly showered with praise, but it’s a much better pick. 2 in 10 are already interested, 2 more can be swayed (our review is in the works).
The design of the 12 Pro pair was inspired by luxury watches, some love it, others do not. Still, it is a unique look, while some brands keep reusing the same old tired designs. The curved displays are a common complaint that we see in the comments and sure enough, people brought that up as a downside for the two Realmes.
The chipsets are another issue. The 12 Pro+ has the more powerful Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, but this chip is significantly less powerful than the similarly named 7+ Gen 2. The regular 12 Pro uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, which is slower still.
Stay tuned for the Realme 12 Pro+ review. We’ve already completed the battery life test and it looks quite promising, pulling ahead of its competition.
