OnePlus 12R’s Global Model Design is Revealed in All Angles

[ad_1]

OnePlus is slated to announce the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R for the global markets on January 23. While the OnePlus 12 is already confirmed to be a copy of its Chinese version, the company is yet to reveal if the OnePlus 12R will carry over the entirety of OnePlus Ace 3 or the local version, including design. Turns out we have an answer to this after official renders of the device have appeared.

Based on the images shared by WinFuture’s resident leaker Roland Quandt, the European model of OnePlus 12R has the same exterior as the Chinese OnePlus 12R. Meaning, the budget smartphone does appear as a rebranded OnePlus Ace 3 after all.

This is not also a big surprise for the most part. However, there were instances before that the company has iterated some components in an internationally bound OnePlus unit, such as equipping a different camera module from the local model.

Regardless, the OnePlus 12R’s design is a familiar affair and shares many similarities to the OnePlus 12 as well. Essentially, the more affordable upcoming device gets this off centered camera island with triple module and the LED flash sitting on another cut out, which was earlier shown in the teaser.

At the front, we get to see the large 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with curved edges on both sides. The bezels are remarkably thin on top and bottom chins. As regards the keys, the slider is positioned on the left side and the volume rocker with the power key on the right.

Likewise, the OnePlus 12R shares the same provisions for interfaces as the standard OnePlus 12, with IR blaster and speaker on top and the USB-C port, SIM tray and two-slit speakers located on the bottom.

The colorways confirmed to be made available are black and the new blue while the gold with a shade of pink might be an exclusive option in China.

OnePlus 12R other specs and price

Other specs of the device include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC which is configurable with up to 16/256 GB memory. The camera array is helmed by a 50 MP Sony IMX 890 sensor, 8 MP ultrawide, and a mandatory 2 MP macro sensor. Its 5,500 mAh battery capacity is the largest one ever equipped on a OnePlus smartphone.

Lastly, the leaked priced of OnePlus 12R suggests it is positioned to rival phones in the $500 category, such as the likes of Google’s Pixel 7a (review).
