A few days ago, Xiaomi teased a new budget-friendly smartphone with a premium design on the back. Yes, it’s the Xiaomi Redmi A3 that we covered a couple of days ago. Well, the phone has been fully unveiled, and now we know the price and all the other previously unknown details.
As we have previously speculated, the Redmi A3 is indeed an entry-level smartphone. The base mode of the device costs INR 7299, which is around $87. But as you may have guessed, the phone doesn’t look like a sub-$ $100 device.
Main Highlights of the Xiaomi Redmi A3
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Redmi A3 comes with entry-level Android smartphone specs. For the processor, Xiaomi has opted for the Helio G36, which is the same SoC as the Redmi A2. But the good news is that the base model of the newer phone has 3 GB of RAM, while the A2’s base model had 2 GB of RAM. Also, the top-end model of the device comes with 6 GB of RAM, while A2 maxed out at 4 GB.
Gizchina News of the week
Although the higher amount of RAM will make the Redmi A3 perform better than the A2, the performance difference won’t be massive. The extra memory also makes the newer phone get the full version of Android instead of the Android Go edition. That means you will get better app support with the newer phone.
Other than that, the Xiaomi Redmi A3 has a 6.71-inch screen on the front with HD+ resolution. While the predecessor had a 60 Hz display, the newer phone bumps it to 90 Hz. This will offer a smoother experience with apps and the UI. As for the camera, the phone has an 8 MP primary and an auxiliary sensor on the back.
Thanks to the “Premium Halo” design, the back looks very similar to the premium Xiaomi 13 Ultra. And on the front, it has a 5 MP selfie shooter. Other highlights of the device include a 5000 mAh battery, 10W charging, a USB-C port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
