MediaTek’s efforts towards improving its flagship SoC offerings has seemingly paid off, according to new data made available online. Specifically, the launch of the Dimensity 9300 series chipset was responsible for a 70% increase in revenue growth for the Taiwanese chip manufacturer, roughly equivalent to around $1 billion worth of revenue.
MediaTek is also expected to ship around 20 million units of the Dimensity 9300, with analysts expecting that the company’s global market share can climb up to 35% this year. Company President Rick Tsai is likewise confident that MediaTek will be able to undergo significant growth in 2024, although Q1 is expected to remain flat.

The Dimensity 9300 was launched just a few months ago, and features an octa-core design that uses one Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.25GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores clocked slightly slower at 2.85GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.0GHz.
While its predecessor the Dimensity 9200, also packed an octa-core design, the majority of the Cortex-X4 cores in the Dimensity 9300 is a massive upgrade. Other major feature upgrades include improved support for ray tracing, as well as integrated generative AI features, an industry trend that’s been seen on more products in the past year.
