Apple is rumored to change up the design of its entry-level iPhone 16 with the cameras on the back going from a diagonal array to a vertical one which we last saw on the iPhone 12 back in 2020. A new set of renders and design schematic have appeared online detailing a pill-shaped camera island housing two sensors on the back with the LED flash on the side. A separate rendering from Apple Hub gives us a look at a few more color options alongside a comparison to the iPhone 16 Pro which is expected to offer the same basic design as the iPhone 15 Pro. Based on rumors, the whole reasoning behind the redesigned camera location on the iPhone 16 is so that the device can record spatial video which can then be played back on the Apple Vision Pro.

Based on the leaks so far, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will retain the same 60Hz refresh rate. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are also rumored to get the Action Button and Apple А18 chipset chipset alongside 8GB RAM and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
