OnePlus just announced the global launch of the OnePlus 12. If the handset exceeds your budget but you still want to own a OnePlus device, you’ll be happy to know that OnePlus has introduced the OnePlus 12R. It was initially named the OnePlus Ace 3 when it was announced in China.
While the OnePlus 12R is a cheaper handset, don’t let its price fool you into thinking that OnePlus will be compromising on its specs. The handset is packing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which was the flagship chipset of 2023 so it still packs quite a punch.
It also comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The phone also features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. OnePlus has also designed the OnePlus 12R with a new vapor cooling chamber. This new chamber is bigger by 76% from the OnePlus 11R. This makes the phone great for sustained periods of gaming.
The battery will also be getting an increase to 5,500mAh with support for 100W SUPERVOOC charging.
As for the cameras, the OnePls 12R will come with a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro. The phone is priced starting at $500. Similar to the OnePlus 12, OnePlus is running some pre-order bonuses. This includes trade-in value for up to $540 for your old phone. There will also be a 10% discount for students. Lastly, there is a coupon worth $30 for the new OnePlus Buds 3 when purchased with the phone.
